Bad News

BAD NEWS

There are times in life when we get bad news. It may be regarding our own health. It may be about someone we love. It may be something about our jobs or a financial issue. Whatever the bad news, our first reaction is sometimes fear. It is sometimes guilt. It is sometimes anger. However, the best action we should take should be prayer. When shocking news comes, we should pray. God is always near and will always have the right answers.

Philippians 4:6 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we pray You will remind us to stay in Your word. We pray You will help us to remember You in tough situations where we have received bad news. Human nature causes us to want to worry, to doubt and to get upset. However, we know we are to turn to You. Turn to Your word. Turn to You in prayer. Turn to You in faith. Thank You for being beside us at all times and especially in times when we receive bad news. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we are surprised with bad news, God is not and He can help us if we go to Him in prayer.

Studying and knowing God's word can help us rely on Him when we receive bad news.

God wants us to go to Him in all things - especially when we receive bad news.

When shocking news comes, we should stop and pray rather than worry, doubt or get angry.

We can always take our troubles to God when we are suffering.

Psalm 120:1 "I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer." (NLT)

Focus: Prayer is showing God we have faith in Him no matter what circumstances come our way.
