J is for Joy. If I am not enjoying sobriety, I must remember to ask myself, "What am I doing wrong." I have been given a second chance at life. Time to step up to the plate and be responsible.

J is for Joke. Recovery is serious, but that doesn`t mean I can`t enjoy it and have fun. It is a life and death program, but I can laugh at myself and the missed Steps along the way. I don`t have to be the joker and the life of the party, all I have to do is be me. I don`t have to wear those masks any more.

J is for Jello. That is how my legs felt for the first few months of recovery. I also feel like my stomach was made of jello when the old fears and bug-a-boos surfaced and I had to face them sober.

So glad that this program taught me to replace the fears with faith and I could go on a solid diet of recovery.
