Default How To Handle Our Pain

A paradox that we'll all come to know right after we begin our recovery is now that we're in recovery, we're in more pain then we were before. For all of us with this problem pain is a difficult thing, maybe because it's just so painful for us to have this problem. One thing that we all know is we have had more than our fair share of pain because of us having this problem. We all just wanted this pain to stop or go away, but it doesn't even after we're in recovery. What recovery teaches us pain is part of life for everyone, and that no one is exempt from getting it. We all have it and the question is what are we going to do about having it. What we've all been doing before we get to recovery wasn't working, and was only making matters worse for all of us. We'll learn from being in recovery how we can get through pain. How we can get to the other side of it where we've all been able to learn from it, and are now better off because we have. Wishing it away, or running from it, only leads to more of it. Learning how to handle our pain is something recovery can show us all how to do, and if ever there was a class of people who know all about pain, it's us who have this problem.
