Freedom Through Forgiveness

Thought for the Day

"Do you carry the burden of a hurt caused by someone? Now is the time to try to start to heal yourself. Try to understand that forgiveness is an important part of healing. It may take a lot of time and it does not mean reconciling with the person who hurt you - it means setting yourself free by turning the matter over to God and trusting that He will deal with the offender in the way, place, and time that He sees fit."

Father, teach me to forgive and hand things over to You rather than to hold onto anger and resentment myself. Anger and resentment only bind me to the hurt and don't allow me to move forward in a healthy and whole way. Amen.
