Lam. 3:22-23, ESV "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." ***** Jeremiah 31:17 (NIV) "So there is hope for your future," declares the Lord. ***** My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. - Psalm 73:26 ***** Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. – Romans 8:17 ***** Today’s Scripture: I Corinthians 1:1-2 (NLT): This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Sosthenes. I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours. Today’s Thought: We are called to be God’s holy people. As we begin this next year, let’s keep that in mind and try to be as holy as possible. Today’s Thought: We must ask God for grace and peace especially in today’s world. We need grace when we mess up. We need peace so that we are able to get along with everyone. Today’s Prayer: Lord, I ask that You help me get along with others as I go about my day today. If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. Rather be openhanded and freely lend him whatever he needs. Deuteronomy 15:7-8 ***** Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Today’s Thought: It is important to have thankful heart. God has given us so much to be thankful for. The Lord has also put people in each one of our lives for us to be thankful for. These people are often there to help us grow in our walk with God. Today let’s show them how much we are thankful for them. Today’s Prayer: Lord, I thank You for those people You’ve put in my life. I know that they are a gift from You. Please show me how I can show them my gratitude. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Isaiah 64:8 ***** Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41 ***** Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. - Psalm 84:11 ***** Isaiah 40:28-31 — Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. __________________________ When we are exhausted, when we wonder how we can continue, Isaiah reminds us to turn our eyes to the all-knowing, sustaining, and creating God. Strength from him in this context comes not from self-improvement but from waiting on the Lord who promises to sustain us as we make this pilgrim journey. Christians can see clearly why we are free to wait on the Lord. For God used his resources of wisdom, power and creation to send his own Son to do all that we cannot do, and to suffer the penalty of all that we have done wrongly. Nothing is left but to wait on the Lord, trusting him and walking with him in quiet confidence and courage. ***** Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. — Romans 12:9 ***** Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. |

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” – Romans 15:1-3 ***** Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11 ***** John 15:4, NIV "Remain in me, as I also remain in you...." ***** Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. ***** "But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee."
