Distant Heart

Bible Reading: Isaiah 29:13; Jeremiah 12:2; Matthew 15:8-9, Mark 7:6-7

How far is your heart from the Lord? Do you honor Him with your lips, and come near Him with your mouth, but have your mind on other things? You may follow the rules and traditions of men, and even receive their approval, but God knows where your heart is.

How far is your heart from the Lord? Are you far, far away, too far to hear His gentle whispers of love? Could you hear Him if He shouted? The things that draw you away will vanish like the mist. Come close, bring your heart near to the Lord.

Moment of Meditation: Distance from God diminishes His direction.

A Talk with Jesus: Father, forgive me when I let my heart be occupied with other things. Bring me near to You. Amen.
