Default What causes you to worry, and act out of fear?

What causes you to worry, and act out of fear, rather than cling to the hope we have in Jesus? Let's face it. We worry, and act out of fear, when we don't feel in control.

When we feel in control, life is good, and tomorrow promises to be even better. When we don't feel in control, we worry, and tomorrow hangs over us like a cloud.

But in truth, we're rarely in control of anything. Life constantly punctures our illusion of control. That's why our hope must come from following Jesus back to the Father. He is in control of everything. And He always urges us to trust in His love:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Let's grab hold of this hope and cling to it.

Jesus, help us cling to a true and lasting hope, a real and healthy optimism. Help us put our trust not in ourselves, but in You and the love and care of our Father. Help us believe, really believe, that:

"in all things God works for the good of those who love Him"
(Romans 8:28)
