Precious Promises – Day 24 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: REWARDS

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” –Jesus Matthew 5:11,12 (NKJV)

Today’s Thought:

Are you going through persecution right now for your faith?
Are people accusing you falsely because you have taken a stand for the Lord?
Do people mock you when you try to live by the Scriptures or when you witness to them about Jesus?

Be happy ! Be very glad! You have a Precious Promise from God! Don’t compromise.
Don’t accept tolerance. This life is just temporary. Be in the world, but not of the world, “For a great reward awaits you in Heaven.” Hallelujah !!

“But I [Jesus] say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,”
Matthew 5:44 [NKJV]

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God, I am so glad as I read this scripture to know that I will have a reward in heaven awaiting me for each persecution that I endure now for You. This encourages me, strengthens me, and causes me to rejoice, as I focus on eternity and not on the present.
Thank You God for Your Precious Promises! Help me to always keep them in my mind daily as I walk through this world. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

Ask the Lord what you should do

1 Samuel 23:9 (NLT) 'David learned of Saul's plan (plotting evil against him) and told Abiathar the priest to bring the ephod and ask the Lord what he should do.'

- When David faced the most difficult times, he would always turn to the Lord.
- David would often stop and inquire of the Lord for direction and wisdom.
- When we face difficulties, we too should stop and ask the Lord what we should do.
- Ask the Lord what you should do, the answer will come, if you will wait for it!

PRAYER: Lord, You know exactly what I am facing and the difficulties and challenges in front of me. I choose not to rush ahead in my own wisdom, but I choose to pause and seek Your leading and guidance in my life. Amen.

Kind Regards

He Increases Your Strength

He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
—Isaiah 40:29

I remember times when I would minister to a very long prayer line, and I could feel myself just starting to cave in physically and even mentally. I would stop for a second and inside I would say, "Lord, I need help here—I need You to refresh me." And as the Scripture promises, He increased my strength, causing it to multiply and abound. If you are sitting at your desk or cleaning your house, if you have worked all day then need to go home and cut the grass or change the oil in the car, the Lord can refresh you.

Lean back for a minute and let Him give you that power. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound] (Isaiah 40:28-29).

The Small Things - Our Daily Bread Ministries

Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

My friend Gloria called with excitement in her voice. She had not been able to leave her home except for doctors’ appointments. So I understood why she was so happy to tell me, “My son just attached new speakers to my computer, so now I can go to my church!” Now she could hear the live broadcast of her church’s worship service. She raved about God’s goodness and the “best gift my son could have given me!”
Gloria teaches me about having a thankful heart. Despite her many limitations, she’s thankful for the smallest of things—sunsets, helpful family and neighbors, quiet moments with God, the ability to remain in her own apartment. She’s had a lifetime of seeing God provide for her, and she talks about Him to anyone who visits or calls.
God is the giver of all good gifts in our life.

We don’t know what difficulties the author of Psalm 116 was encountering. Some Bible commentaries say it was probably sickness because he said, “the cords of death entangled me” (v. 3). But he gave thanks to the Lord for being gracious and full of compassion when he was “brought low” (vv. 5–6).
When we’re low, it can be hard to look up. Yet if we do, we see that God is the giver of all good gifts in our life—great and small—and we learn to give Him thanks.

What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me? . . . I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving (Ps. 116:12, 17 esv).

Learning To Flex

Proverbs 27:1 - “Don’t brag about what will happen tomorrow. You don’t really know what will happen then” (NCV).

I had great expectations for the day. However, before I could leave the house, the phone rang numerous times, delaying my start. It rained during my drive, slowing my traveling time. The motel where I made reservations was filled with high school athletes, so I had to hunt for different accommodations. When I finally found a vacancy, they gave me an outside room in a dark alley. It was sub-zero weather, I was alone, and had requested an inside room, so I asked to be moved. I dropped the key to my new room down a crevice in my van and spent a half-hour trying to retrieve it. Meanwhile, my growling stomach reminded me I had not eaten. On the way to the restaurant, traffic snarled to a stop. Two police cars and an ambulance blocked the intersection. A wreck! Another delay! “This is not how I planned it!” I thought.

We can make plans, but we cannot guarantee the outcome. Learning to stay flexible reduces our anxiety when things don’t go the way we expected. When we acknowledge our disappointment and adjust our expectations, the knot in our stomach relaxes. Then we are ready to enjoy ourselves and others.

Lord, sometimes things don’t go the way I’ve planned.
When that happens, help me learn to flex.

Joan C. Webb

A Clear Mind

Thought for the Day

"Is there something on your mind that is weighing heavily on you? Talk to God about it, pray on it and ask for His guidance, and try to find a way to deal with it. Without a clear mind, you may be unable to find the peace needed to keep moving forward in your life."

Today's Word

"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:22 NIV)

Today's Prayer

Father, guide me so I may find the way to have a clear mind and the peace that will come as a result. Amen

Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. – Psalm 141:3 (NIV)

I remember one time I had to leave my computer in my car. My concern was that someone might try to take it, so I made sure my car was locked and my computer was well hidden under a pile of junk. I did everything I could think of to keep my computer safe. When something is important, you’ve got to watch over it carefully and keep it locked up.

We know that guarding our possessions is important, but what about our words? Today’s Bible verse talks about guarding our mouth. If words aren’t important to God, why would David ask for God’s help to guard his mouth? It seems like the words that we speak are important.

We know that when something is important, we guard it. Our words are important. They can determine how we see ourselves. Words can be used to hurt others. The words we speak are powerful and it’s up to us how we use them.

So today, choose to put a guard on your words. Be a person that speaks life over yourself and others. Determine to only let good words come out of your mouth.
