Precious Promises – Day 23 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: PURPOSE To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: Eccl. 3:1 (NKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) Today’s Thought: What is “Purpose”? Purpose means: an intent, plan, or determination. God has a plan and a time for everything. He is in control, all we need do is love Him, obey Him and trust Him to keep His promise to fulfill His good plan for us. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 [NKJV] Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, I want You to fulfill the purpose You have for me. Whatever plan You had for me when You created me, I pray You will bring that to fulfillment in my life. I can pray this because I know according to Jeremiah 29:11 that You only have a good plan for me and Your purpose for me is for good and not for evil. Your purpose is to give me a future and a hope. So, I pray, that the good You have purposed for my life will be fulfilled in Your timing, and each day I will look forward to accomplishing the plan and purpose You have for me. Thank You God. In Jesus name I pray. Amen May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. Psalm 20:4 (NKJV) ********* God Is Always With Us For men are note cast off by the Lord forever. Though He brings grief, He will show compassion. Lamentations 3:31-32 Ever just feel cut off from the world? You have decided you want to be sober and now the friends that you have don't fit into that lifestyle of sobriety. You know you need to leave them behind but it's so hard because your entire life is in shambles. You might think you are alone and that you have no one to turn to. And yes it might be true that you don't have the comfort of a family life or right now life filled with intimate friends. But, it does not mean you are alone. God is with you always! Matthew 28:20 states "Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." So when you feel like you are alone and don't have that support, know that Jesus is with you this every moment and that He will not leave you. You might want to consider this a time to attend a 12 Step Program meeting or a Celebrate Recovery Meeting. There are others who have been in this position and can help be of a support during this very dark time. But as you grow in your recovery and spiritual life, you will begin to discover others who do care about you and want to be in your life as well. Recovery Box ********* Standing Strong Thought for the Day "Keeping our faith and doing the right thing can sometimes be very hard in the face of the trials and adversities we must deal with on a daily basis. Do not give into the temptation to take the easy road or shortcuts that may not be in your best interest. You are God's chosen one! Draw your strength from Him and stand tall and strong." _________________________________ Today's Word "But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved." (Hebrews 10:39 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Help me, Lord, to stand strong in the face of adversity. Let me draw my strength from You so that I may not give into the temptation to take shortcuts that me be hurtful to me and those around me. Amen The Whisper Of God ********* Never Alone “Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Thought Never alone! What a promise. God will go with him, and us, through all the seasons of life, through all our ups and downs, through temptations and triumphs, even through death (cf. Psalm 139). So we can take courage and feel his strength. We are not alone! Prayer God, thank you for being there and staying there when all others forsake and leave. You are the one constant in my life so full of change. Help me become more steadfast and faithful in my commitments and relationships to honor you and to learn more about you. Through Jesus I pray. Amen. By Phil Ware
