Default Hello

Hello all,
I am new to this site. I was part of AA for a long time until about 2005, when I thought I was cured. I was able to drink socially for a while, but I now realize that I cannot control my drinking. I had a relationship with a HP, but I lost it and I'm trying to get it back. I plan on visiting this site while I pray for strength to walk back through the doors of a meeting.

Welcome Mike, glad you found the site. hope you will continue to come. There is a lot of recovery material here. you know that AA will open their arms as well as their doors to you. Even if they didn't there is always the 3rd Tradition. I knew I was an addict, but don't call me an alcoholic. My dad and ex-husband were drunks, but I had the thinking behind the drinking. As they say, 'Control is an illusion.' If you have to control it, it is already out of control.

your old program didn't work. you need to build a new one that will work for you in today. Even God can be an old tape, you have to make your relationship with your God personal. It isn't what other say is good orderly direction that worked for them.

You have to get honest, open minded, and willing. if one of these is missing, pray for it.

if there is anything you need, just ask.
