Words To God
WORDS TO GOD
Prayer is about going to God for help. Prayer is about worshiping God. Prayer is about having a conversation and a close relationship with our Creator. Prayer changes things. Prayer moves us. Prayer helps us to keep the needs of others in our hearts and minds. Pray for others. Pray for self. Pray for leaders, pray for servants. Prayer needs to be a constant conversation to God. Pray this way: Matthew 6:9-13 "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen." (KJV) Dear Lord, help us to have a consistent prayer time with You. Help us to pray as You have called us to pray. You are mighty. You are strong. We pray for Your will to be done. We thank You for taking care of needs today. Help us to forgive and thank You for Your for forgiving us. Lead us away from being tempted. Deliver us from evil. We want to live completely for You. In Jesus' name. Amen. When we begin our prayer acknowledge how great God is, He will bring us to closer to Him. When we pray for God's will to be done in all things, He will reveal His will to us. When we pray for our daily needs and not be greedy in our prayers, we will always be content with what God provides to us. When we pray for forgiveness and we forgive others, we will have peace. When we pray not to be tempted and rebuke the devil in Jesus' name, God will give us strength to resist temptation. Matthew 4:10 "'Get out of here, Satan,' Jesus told him. 'For the Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.'" (NLT) Focus: Talking to God is an important step to building a relationship with Him. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=6221785

Love prayers for the heart, said in the moment, not something read in a formal way. To me they lose meaning, especially when said in rote. Like the Serenity Prayer, for me it is one of the most awesome and meaningful. Yet it can be said fast and without thought, and it take away the power of the prayer.
Words don't have to be formal, they don't have to be fancy, a simple "Help!" I can't do this, I need your help will do." We can ask for clarity, strength, courage, direction, forgiveness, and many more things. I just try to ask for what I need in the moment in today. He knows better what I need than I do myself.
