Topic of the week, words that begin with "E"
E is for EACH. Each day is a new beginning, so have a great one. Each of us have to find our own path and what works for us. What works for you may not work for me. What worked for me, could take you back out. I put a lot of time and effort into my recovery, some people are just not that willing to go that extra mile.

E is for Endeavour. All I am asked to do is try to be the best 'me' I can be in today. Each day is a new beginning, so it is one day's emotions, events, endeavours, etc. that I have to deal with.

E is for Easy. It is a simple program, but it isn't always easy. They say, "Easy does it...but do it." We can work our through the Steps, but there is no race, it is best to take our time and do it to the best of our ability. Easy doesn't mean it can be put off or wait until you do the next one. Each Step for me, was a healing and not doing them was not an option. For me to use was to die. Easy means I didn't have to become obsessive/compulsive about doing them. It was about one day at a time. Someone asked me all the time, "What Step are you on today Jo?" I told him, "Some days all 12."
Each day we work toward spiritual things. We are not saints, yet we try to walk a spiritual path in the moment.

E is for Evaluation. We need to look at our life, see what we need to change, just because we have been doing things forever, doesn't mean it is right for us in today. Everything can be eyed from a new perspective. It is not either/or, or right/wrong, should I/shouldn't I, could/could have, it is about what is right for us in today, and what is in the moment according to God's will not mine. If the time is right, I will know if I invite my God into my day.

E is for Everlasting. My Higher Power's love is everlasting. It is unconditional, and just because I slip (sobriety loses it's priority), in word or deed, my God is there for me each day.
Even my God may not be the same one of your understanding, I believe God is One, and is there for everyone.

E is for Evade. Evade old friend and places that you use or went to use. Evade temptation, take it to your God, He will give you the courage, strength and wisdom to resist. Everything you see isn't for you, evade things that are not in your best interest.

E is Elevate. Don`t elevate your ego. Elevate your self worth and your reasons for being. We are not our disease. We can elevate ourselves out of the darkness into the light. All we need to do is be honest with ourselves, God and others. Open our minds to new ideas and concepts, and be willing to do whatever it takes to abusing our self and others.
