Topic of the week - Words that begin with the letter "T"
T is for Trust. Trust the God of your understanding. Trust the process of recovery. Trust the program, it worked for others, it can work for you. If you find it doesn`t work for you, ask yourself, `Did I work for it.` Did I just sit back and expect my God to do it all for me.
This is a we program. All we are asked to do is try.

T is for TRY. The last letters of Just for Today, spell the word TRY! The failure is in the not trying. It is okay to try and fall short of yours and others expectations. Just because you make a mistake or fall short of your goals, doesn't mean you are a failure. It just means, "You need to try again.

T is for Tell. Tell your story and share with others. Tell your sponsor all those deep secrets, bring them to light so they may heal. They don't have to come out all at once, but as they say, "We are only as sick as our secrets," so tell yourself, be willing to be willing to do a Step Four and Five.
Tell yourself, you are loved, you are worth while, you do deserve recovery.

T is for Think. In Al-Anon, the slogan says THINK. In AA, it is THINK, THINK, THINK. I was told to give little thought to my past, it is gone and I can`t change it but I can learn from it. I was told to give little thought to the future, tomorrow never comes, it is always today. Live and think on today. My recovery is in today and when I leave today, I miss out and threaten my sobriety.

T is for Telephone. Support is important in recovery. I was told to ask people for phone numbers, men for me and women for women. Pick up the telephone when you get the FIRST thought of using. Pick up the telephone in good times and not so good times and call your sponsor. It will give you practice when you find yourself in tight corners.
Pick up the telephone or text someone, before you make the decision to pick up NOT afterward, if you live to make it back.

T is for Triumph. By applying the Twelve Steps, I have triumph over my disease.
I learned that I need to take the words off the pages and learn to live them in today. It is a one day at a time program. It doesn't matter what dis-ease I have, the 12 Steps are applicable.

T is for Take. Take what you need for your recovery. Take what you don't need, put it on a shelf until you find some takers, and you can pass it on. If the shelf gets dusty, remember to take things off and dust them, you just may find that you finally need them in your own life.
