Default Point of View

God's Word For Today

Point of View

Read 2 Corinthians 5:1 through 9:15

Psychiatrist Dr. David H. Fink studied thousands of individuals who were undergoing psychological problems. He found that those who regarded others critically suffered severe nervous tension as compared to those who were positive and noncritical. Their “point of view” about other people revealed an extreme difference in the degree of their illness.

From now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:16–17).

People struggle with being negative in their observation of others. When we invite Christ into our hearts, we are given a new point of view. The things that once repulsed us take on a different appearance, and the things we were once attracted to also look different. Our view begins to align with the view of Christ. We should not allow a “worldly point of view” to creep into our attitudes.

Prayer for Today: Lord, let me see others through Your eyes.

Quicklook: 2 Corinthians 5:16–17
