Shine Like Stars
Shine Like Stars
“Shine like stars in the universe.” Phil 2:15 Have you ever looked out at the sky on a dark night and marveled at the bright shining stars? There is nothing quite as spectacular as seeing the heavens filled with stars twinkling in the darkness. Well, that’s what we are called to do. We are to bring light where there is only darkness. We are to cause others to wonder as they view us. We are to shine even though we are surrounded by darkness; and in doing so, we can bring God glory, just as the stars of the universe bring Him glory. We are called to live lives that stand apart from the darkness of the world. In a world that’s deep in darkness, to those who have lost their way, our actions and reactions should be different from those of this world. This is the way we can be seen as lights in a dark place; how we live will determine if we are seen as lights, or if we blend with the darkness. We can only maintain our bright-shining lives through the energy we receive from the Sun of righteousness. Jesus is the light that no darkness can consume. He is the light that shines through us. He is the one who lifted the veil of darkness from our eyes and it is through Him that we can shine forth to others like the stars of the universe. This is our calling: to shine, as Jesus shines. This is the profession of our faith, to bring light to a darkened world. It is indeed a noble calling, one that requires our all. So let us shine with all that is within us. Shine like stars in the universe, that those who live in darkness might be awakened from the darkness and see Christ through us. Father, how we thank you for sending Jesus to enlighten our world! We pray that we might be used by you to bring that light to others. Help us to shine as stars, dear Father. Help us to shed forth light in the darkness and in doing so, may we give you all the glory and honor that you deserve! Amen Quiet Waters
