D is for Detachment. If you detach with love, you leave a tag that can bring you back and into the situation. Just detach because we detach because we do love them. We love them, even though we may not like their actions. They may not like our actions, but we detach because we love ourselves.

D is for Easy Does It, but do it. Today I am going to try to just be, and just do what is in front of me and not try to make things happen. I learned my friend was in the hospital and called Darts wanting there today, yet I have to be home to get picked up for my meeting tonight. Darts couldn't book me until tomorrow morning.

That is good, because I have laundry to do either before or after my group. If I stay on the computer, it will be do after.

D is for D.O.G. Divine Orderly Good. It doesn't matter if your beliefs aren't the same as everyone else. It doesn't matter if your beliefs are opposite of what others believe. I call it the GOD/DOG Syndrome. It is what ever works for you.

D is for Dedicate. Dedicate yourself to the program. life depends on it. The 12 Steps are a living program and something we need to practice daily.

D is for Divine. It is was Divine Providence that got me to the rooms of recovery. I just happened to go by the door of the girl who called herself my unofficially adopted daughter. The Social Worker offered her a Tyenol 3 for her migraine and she said."No, I don't want to be like her down the hall." When I heard her words, I knew she was talking about me, and I picked up the phone and called that same Social Worker and asked for help. That was August 8, my dry date is August 21. She got me off the medication my doctor had me on, he had been my supplier for years. She wanted to go after his license, but because he was my aunt's family doctor, I said No. She later got another doctor and got off her Tyenol 2s which he was trying to up to Tyenol 3s. She knew because I had gone into treatment for recovery from prescription drugs, she decided to stop her pills too.
