Default What's It Going To Take?

What's It Going To Take?

"And The Lord said to Moses, "How long will this people despise Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, in spite of all the signs which I have wrought among them?" (Numbers 14:11 )

Some people just don't seem to get it. Or maybe they don't even care, or feel it necessary to think about things within the spiritual realm as God and the afterlife. They live in the here and now; only wanting to deal with what is before them at the moment. Those individuals who believe and have experienced the reality of God in their life may reveal profound personal transformations and other signs and wonders which followed their faith in God, and yet, as the above Bible verse reveals, in spite of the signs, those they have spoke with still will not believe.

Sadly, many people exist in this world totally oblivious to God. And as such, I must ask myself, "What's it going to take for them to open their blind eyes, deaf ears and hard hearts?" Will someone close to them have to die before they raise their own questions on life after death? Does sickness or disease have to befall them before they humble themselves enough to cry out to the Lord? Must their own life be endangered before they shout, "Help me, God!" Worse yet, what if they put off God until it is too late?

Again, I ask, what's it going to take?

In essence, God has prepared an awesome feast for us all, but His invitation to partake of it is continually ignored.

"And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come." (Matthew 22:1)

What about you?

What's it going to take for you to take notice of the One who has been calling and reaching out to you?

Prayer: "Dear God, I have hid from You long enough. I have lived according to my own devices, and they have failed miserably. I am ready to take hold of Your hand now, God, and to start anew. Come in to my life, dear Lord, and soften my heart with Your love. This I ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen." Daily Wisdom

For me it was a change in attitude. If I continued to think and act the way I always did for many years, I will get what I always got for many years.

I had to make my God personal. I always knew He was there but often had a blind eye to His existence, and had tunnel vision as to what He could do in my live, and I looked through those rose-coloured glasses and didn`t face reality and said, `Everything is just fine.`

Proverbs 3:6
New King James Version (NKJV)
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct[a] your paths.

Footnotes:

a) Proverbs 3:6 Or make smooth or straight
