Default Peaceful Thoughts

PEACEFUL THOUGHTS

Peace. Yes. That is what we want. We want peace in our homes, in our hearts and in our world. Is that attainable? God tells us we can have peace. In our minds and hearts. That is where we start. When we fix our thoughts on God, He will keep us in perfect peace. When we allow God’s Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, we can have peace. We can’t get peace from this world or ourselves. We need God.

SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:6 “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write how you think about God.
2. List ways to find His peace.
3. Know God’s promise of peace is real.
4. Trust in God. Focus on Him. Find His peace.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for the peace of mind You promise to us. Help us to stop focusing on this world and looking to it to give us peace. We know, from Your word, we can only find true peace in You. Help us, to keep our minds and thoughts focused on Your word so we can experience the peace that passes all understanding. Your peace. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God can give us the gift of peace in our minds and hearts. We cannot find this peace in our world.

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (NLT)

When we turn from this world and submit to God, we can find peace.

Job 22:21-22 “Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you. Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart.” (NLT)

God wants us to have peace. He promises to give it to us when we fix our minds on Him.

FOCUS: Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (NLT)
