Practice Patience
As we are nearing the end of the year, we can look back and reflect on all that happened. We can remember the good and the bad…and learn from both. The outcome of the situations in the past will show us if there is any need for change. Just reflecting on our attitudes this past week can show us where change may be needed. We may joke about praying for patience because we know we will be tested in order for our patience to strengthen. However, we all need to practice patience in everything we do. Let’s make a goal to strive for patience by learning to let things go and let God take control. SCRIPTURE: James 1:12 “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” (NLT) ACTION STEPS: 1. Write any areas where you are impatient. 2. List ways you can practice patience. 3. Remember God wants you to let Him take control. 4. Plan now to let things go and let God handle everything in your life. PRAYER: Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to be more patient about the things going on in our lives right now. Help us to remember You have a perfect plan for our lives and to seek Your will and Your way. You have just what we need when we need it. Help us to take time to get to know You better by studying and meditating on Your word. While we wait on You to answer our prayers, we can build trust in You and practice patience with confident hope You are in control. In Jesus’ name. Amen. REMEMBER: 2 Corinthians 6:6 “We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.” (NLT) James 5:10 “For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.” (NLT) Hebrews 10:36 “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” (NLT) 2 Thessalonians 3:5 “May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.”(NLT) Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” (NLT) FOCUS: Psalm 27:14 “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (NLT) https://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_p...log_id=6641158
