Default Trust In God

TRUST IN GOD

Money can be overwhelming. If we don't have enough money, we tend to worry about how to pay the bills. If we have money, we may spend too much of it and put too much focus on what we can buy. God has a plan for our finances. We need to go to Him with what we have and ask Him to help us know what we need to do with our money. He will help us with a plan. We should trust in Him and not money.

SCRIPTURE:
1 Timothy 6:17-19 "Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life." (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write down what you do with your money.
2. List where you spend the most money.
3. Remember not to worry but to pray about your finances.
4. Trust in God and go to Him to be truly rich.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help us today not to worry about our finances. We know You will give us just what we need when we need it. We know You have a plan for us and we are to give back to You whatever we have for You to use as You see fit. Show us what we should do today in our financial situation and help us not to make another move without You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We should put our trust in God and not money.

We should use our money to do good.

We shouldn't worry about our finances, but instead ask God how we can better manage our money.

We need to go to God with the money we have and thank Him for it. Then ask Him how we should best use it.

If we want to be rich, we need to give away what we have and trust in God.

FOCUS: Colossians 3:16a "Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives." (NLT)

We can truly be rich when we stop focusing on worldly things and begin focusing on God.
