Knowing we have a problem and accepting that we do are two different things, most of us went as far as to suspect there might be something wrong with us, but few of us ever pursued finding out exactly what that might be. Recovery will show us what is exactly wrong with us. Once we know that it changes everything, we can no longer play the role of the victim. We are now doing this to ourselves if we choose not to get help for our problem. The key thing we need to do now is to accept we have a problem, one that we aren't able to fix on our own, by doing this allows us to ask for help. If we think things were bad before we knew what's wrong with us, they now become intensely impossible now that we know, and choosing not to do anything about it only makes things worse. It is only by accepting we have a problem, that we are able to become willing to do anything about it. If we are not willing to accept that we have a problem at this point, we only have got ourselves to blame, and when we start doing that, the end is near.
