None of us were born to this world disliking ourselves, or the world for that matter, this happens to us, this is how we all ended up, not liking ourselves or the world we live in, and for this part of our problem, we are not to blame, we are not the ones at fault. Once we're in recovery and understand this, we have one of two choices to make, we either go on trying what we've been trying, that wasn't working, or we can try to do something different, something new, like what recovery suggests that we do, to see if that might work. What's interesting is none of us think this will work, and most of us are afraid to try, because of what it will mean about us if it does work. This is where we all can be either our own worst enemy, or our best friend. We're only ones who get to decide this for ourselves. No one is ever going to stop us if we want to keep on doing what's not working. We're the only ones that can do that, but before we decide, let's try to keep a few things in mind when it comes to having this problem. First, this problem is relentless, and it never goes away, and it gets progressively worse over time, it never gets better. Recovery gives us all a way out of this, one that works, but only if we're willing to choose to take it, otherwise we'll get to know firsthand everything there is to know about having this problem.
