Intervention Links for Alcohol & Drug Dependency
1. What is an intervention? An intervention is attempt by family members and friends to help a chemically dependent person get help for his/her problem. These interventions are usually successful and often go onto a drug and alcohol treatment program and learn how to live life without the use of these substances. The purpose of interventions is to get substance abusers out of denial and show them the ways in which their disease is affecting the people they love the most. With the help of an intervention specialist and loved ones, the intervention process does not have to be painful, but can be the beginning of a new way of living for all those involved. 2. Do interventions work? It is believed that interventions have a 90-95% success rate when done under the guidance and supervision of a licensed intervention specialist and with the help of other people close to the individual needing the intervention. In some sense, interventions are very successful because although drugs and alcohol have essentially taken over a person?s life, it is still hard for the abuser to be confronted with his/her own behavior and know how it has affected others. 3. Does the drug or alcohol abuser have to be ready to get help? The straight answer to this question is no, the abuser does not have to be willing to get help, however successful interventions occur when there have been significant repercussions as a result of the person?s drinking or using. These events and occurrences can be used to show the chemically dependent person the ways in which life has become unmanageable. Please contact us with questions or concerns at 1-800-399-3612.

Intervention 911
http://www.intervention911.com/ An interventionist is a guide to recovery when somebody develops any kind of addiction involving alcohol, drugs, gambling, eating disorders, the internet or a combination of two or more. A professional crisis interventionist from Intervention 911 will help you deal with the person who may be unrecognizable from their former self. The addict is often in complete denial of his/her addiction and intervention specialists can help navigate the emotional landmines that often come up during a family intervention. Often the walls of denial grow stronger around the addict, keeping the ones who "don't understand" out and keeping the ones who perpetuate this lifestyle in. An alcohol or drug intervention, when done correctly, tears down these walls. It brings a brief period of clarity to the addict, which we use to guide them to the path of recovery. Intervention 911 offers a wide range of services in addition to alcohol intervention and drug interventions. Look to our intervention page to learn more about executive intervention, family intervention and additional alcohol and drug intervention programs. Watching a family member, friend or co-worker self destruct is extremely painful especially when they do not seem to understand the severity of their disease. Often they think they can handle the problem and aren?t aware of their impact on others. If you need help identifying a problem, please use our online assessment. It can be frustrating when the more help that is offered, the more they drinker or user isolates to protect their behaviors. It is a vicious cycle that Ken Seeley and his team of interventionists can help you with today. Drug abuse intervention, alcohol abuse intervention and other addictions require specially trained professionals in order to maximize results. Please give us a call for an assessment and evaluation of your particular needs. Get Help Now 866-834-9865
