He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure. Isaiah 33:6 NIV

I fully intend to memorize today's verse. There are times in my life where I need to remember that God is my foundation. Times when I need to know He is my rich store of wisdom and knowledge.

Does your life ever seem to be on shifting sand? You don't know which way to turn next? The struggles of life have you captivated with fear, if you allow them to control your thoughts?

When my world is caving in around me, I need to know that my foundation is secure. Everything may not be going the way I want it to at a particular moment, but my foundation is fixed! I am not about to fall. I need to know that the Truth found only in Christ is the only wisdom and knowledge I need to succeed.

Once while my family was vacationing in Florida we encountered fairly severe weather. A hurricane, which never fully developed, was forecasted to hit our beach. People all around us were evacuating, but because it was the start of our vacation, we decided to stay. I knew as a father, it was my job to make a wise decision. I remember someone in our condo unit saying that the building we were in was over 25 years old. It had withstood stronger storms than this one. It had a strong foundation. With this practical information, and with my faith in God, I had the wisdom and knowledge I needed, and I was trusting in God to care for us through the storm. We would be okay.

When you and I face storms in life, we need to know that we are standing on solid ground. We have a sure foundation. That fact, provided to us by our faith in God, through His Son Jesus Christ, according to today's scripture, should be our treasure in life!

Place your faith in God as a sure foundation, and you will have a treasure; a treasure of peace, that the storms of life can never blow away!
