Default Get Emotional

GET EMOTIONAL

We all know people who are very emotional. They are either very up and happy or very down and depressed. We have probably experienced our own highs and lows in life as well. God tells us there is a time to laugh and a time to cry. It is okay to get emotional, at times. There will be times in our lives when we need to cry. And times in our lives when we just have to laugh. God wants us to be emotional; however, He wants us to control our emotions as well so we aren't so focused on us that we forget about Him. God can help us control our emotions and know when it is time to cry and time to laugh. He can help us stay away from anger and depression.

Romans 12:15 "Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to control our emotions. We pray You will show us when to be happy and when we are to weep. We know we shouldn't base our emotions on our own feelings but instead on how You teach us to handle our emotions. When we allow our emotions to control us, we get out of control. We may choose to eat whatever we want. We may do harm to our bodies. We may go down the wrong path in life. Help us today to stay focused on You and control our emotions. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we allow our emotions to control us, we get out of control.

God can help us control our emotions and know how to let go of wrong feelings.

Whatever we are feeling inside may come out in an emotion. God can help us control our feelings and emotions.

A closer walk with God reading His word and praying to Him daily will help us with our emotions.

God tells us there is a time to laugh and a time to cry. When we put our trust in Him, He will show us when those times are.

Ecclesiastes 3:4a "A time to cry and a time to laugh." (NLT)

Focus: Focus on God and let Him help us be more in touch with our emotions.
