HELP!

How many of us go through our days without helping others? And when we do help, are we doing it willingly or grudgingly? We are called to be joyful, grow in God’s word, encourage others and live together in peace. We are called to help others. Those who are poor, weak, sick and helpless. If we weren’t meant to take care of each other, we would be alone on an island somewhere. When we spend time with God, He will show us the needs of others and give us the desire to help.

2 Corinthians 13:11 “Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.” (NLT)

2 Corinthians 13:11 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.” (KJV)

Dear Lord, we don’t want to be selfish and overlook the needs of others. We don’t want to be angry that we have to help others. We want to be joyful that You give us the opportunity to use our talents to help others. We want to grow in Your word so we will be more aware of opportunities to help the lost, the poor and the sick. Show us today where You want us to use our talents and abilities so we can spiritually mature and help others. We eagerly look for Your help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we spend time with God, He will show us the needs of others and give us the desire to help.

If we see someone in need, we shouldn’t ignore them. God put them in our path for a reason.

If we know of someone who is struggling financially, God wants us to help them.

Those who are sick and weak need to be shown the love of Jesus and encouraged by His word.

God gives us spiritual gifts to develop and strengthen so we can help others.

1 Corinthians 12:7 “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” (NLT)

Focus: God promises us love and peace when we take time to use our spiritual gifts to help others.
