Default Worry

WORRY

If we want to have a good attitude in life, we need to stop worrying about everything. We need to stop worrying about anything. We are to know God is in control and He will take care of things. If we look back a year ago and think about what we were doing and what we were concerned about, we can see most of our worries were for no reason at all. When we reflect on how God helped us get past certain tough situations and what He has done, we can see an attitude of worry is really unnecessary. God tells us to focus on Him and wait for Him to act. He wants us to know He is always in control.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 37:7 “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what worries you.
2. List what God has done for you in the past.
3. Know God is waiting to help you again.
4. Trust in Him. Wait patiently. Don’t worry.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we know we sometimes worry too much. We allow our worry to take over our lives and change our attitudes. We want to remember daily You are in control. We want to wait patiently for You to act. We don’t want to worry about those who do wrong but instead have faith in You to handle our tough situations. Help us, Lord, to move away from worry and focus on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Don’t worry. Look back a year ago at what you were doing and what you were concerned about. What has changed? Where has God helped you? What has He done?

God is able to help us when we stop dwelling on our problems and stop worrying about them.

When we give our issues and concerns to God, He will free us from the burden of worry.

We can’t have a great attitude when we allow worry to consume us.

Rather than worry about tomorrow, pray about today and live it according to God’s will.

FOCUS: Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (NLT)

Tomorrow is tomorrow. Focus on today and what we can do to have an attitude free from worry.
