God tells us how to deal with people who are hard to live with
DIFFICULT PEOPLE
We all have to deal with people – all types of people. We have so many options when we interact with those who are negative or hard to get along with. We can ignore them. We can argue with them. We can give into them. We can agree with them. The possibilities are endless. However, not all of the ways we chose are good ways. Many times people worry about how to deal with difficult people and attempt to avoid them at all costs. Another not-so-good idea. God tells us how to deal with people who are hard to live with. He doesn’t want us to worry. He doesn’t want us to fight with them. He doesn’t want us to ignore them or give into them. He wants us to love them. Yes, love them. He tells us many times in His word that we are to love our enemies and do good to them so we are living a godly example to them and showing them we are one of His followers. SCRIPTURE: Luke 6:27-29 “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.” (NLT) ACTION STEPS: 1. Write about who you have to deal with in life who make things difficult. 2. List what they do that is hard to understand or respond to. 3. Know God has an outline for you regarding how to treat them. 4. Remember to trust God’s plan and follow His will dealing with difficult people. PRAYER: Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to better understand how You want us to deal with difficult people. We know our approach may not be working and we continue to worry about what to do. Show us in Your word what we are to do and give us strength and courage to follow Your will. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. REMEMBER: When we learn how to deal with difficult people according to God’s way, we will find joy. Psalm 106:3 “There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.” (NLT) We are to pray for those who are hard to deal with. We are to pray that God will bless them. Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.” (NLT) It is true that when we continue to be kind to difficult people, God can work to make a change in their lives. FOCUS: Proverbs 25:21-22 “If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you.” (NLT) https://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_p...log_id=6697503
