In AA they say, a woman for a woman and a man for a man, a sponsor should be opposite your sexual preference. I was a temporary sponsor from a young guy from Quebec, until such a time as he found a male sponsor. He said, `Don`t care if people look at me funny, I want what you have.` The old prejudices and old tapes can still play in other people`s heads, but it is important that we do what we need to do for our sobriety. I also sponsored two gay guys. This is a spiritual program that is God given.
