Default God’s Timing

God's Word For Today

God’s Timing

Read Isaiah 63:1 through 66:24

One day, Joan picked up the phone to call her mother across town and was surprised to find her mother already on the line saying her name. In a coincidence of timing, Joan’s mother had already dialed her number, and Joan picked up the receiver just as her phone was about to ring.

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24).

God sometimes answers before we call out to Him in prayer. It is one of the mysteries of faith concerning “clock time” and “holy time.” If we are faithful in our prayer lives, our Heavenly Father may, according to His purpose, work in advance of what He knows we will be asking of Him.

That God may choose to answer before we call out to Him in no way negates the importance of communing daily with our Heavenly Father. Because God is able to work both within and outside of “clock time,” it is never too early or too late to pray.

Prayer Suggestion: Pray that God will enrich your prayer time and help you see that divine timing is never coincidental.

Quicklook: Isaiah 65:17–25

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
