We Have To Choose It
Beginning recovery is never easy for any of us and a lot of us aren't even sure where we can begin, or that we're even ready for it. Stopping the things that all of us have become accustomed to doing that we all learned as a way for us to try to live with our problem that wasn't working for any of us, have all now become habits for all of us. And like with any habits we may have it takes time to make or break them. What we all have to do to begin to do this is to have a willingness to want these habits that aren't working for any of us to be changed, followed up with a choice to choose to do whatever is necessary to have that happen. Instead most of us think that on our own we can begin to make this happen; this only sets us up for failing to do so. We all begin recovery when we realize this, that we're going to need help do this, that on our own we can't do this, and that is where recovery can help us, because it is full of people who have already done this, and can show us exactly how we can do the same thing for ourselves. We all begin recovery when we choose to do what those in recovery have already done that has worked for them. No one can make any of us choose to be in recovery. All of us have got to choose that for ourselves, and for those of us who have we're glad that we did because recovery works.
