Winning Or Losing

It's not all that uncommon for all of us to hear at one time or another before we get to recovery that the people who are here in recovery are a bunch of losers. This is usually being said by someone who is like us and has what we all have, and who is not in recovery. What is at stake here for all of us who are in need of recovery is not a matter of winning or losing, this is about life or death for all of us. Thinking about this in any other terms is what has led, and will lead many of us to have to die from this. It's only when we all begin to realize there is no such thing as winning when it comes to having this that we all have do we have a chance not to die from this. We can all go out there and look for that bunch of winners who have this and who have won, and we won't be able to find them because they're nowhere to be found because they don't exist. There isn't any one of us who ever wins when it comes to having this, but there are many of us who have died trying to win. The best we all can hope for is for all of us to try to find some way of surviving this so we won't die from having this and how to do that is what is offered to all of us by recovery. We can all go on trying to win at this if we want to, but there's no real need to do this anymore besides which too many of us have already died trying to do this. Surrendering while we all have the chance to is the best thing we can all do and this might be our only chance to that we ever get and we have seen this is too true for a lot of us. None of us will ever become a loser by getting into recovery or from having what we all have but there will be many of us who don't learn how to live with this, and who will die from this, they do become one.
