Default Your Undivided Attention Please

Your Undivided Attention Please

Listening is an art. Few people have the skill, patience, or desire to practice it. Listening takes time and attention – two things everyone seems to be short on. How are your listening skills and habits? Are you a:

· “Every Other Worder” that divides their attention on two discussions at the same time? (one may be the one you are having in your own mind)

· “Interrupter” listening only for a place where you can interject or take over the conversation?

· “”Pretender” not listening to a single syllable but giving the impression that you are listening?

· “Distorter” listening to only the parts you want to hear?

Listening is important. It requires your full attention. This is especially true as it applies to listening to the Lord. He has things to tell you, advice to give you, and direction to set with you. Are you taking the time to listen to Him? When you do take the time, are you doing all the talking instead of having a prayerful conversation? Give the Lord your full attention. Listen with all your heart. Thank Him for your blessings and let Him know you heard Him by following His lead. You may not have all the time in the world to listen to the Lord but it will make a world of difference if you do.

“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” John 10:4
