Default Promise of Blessing

God's Word For Today

Promise of Blessing

Read Exodus 22:1 through 24:18

Many look forward to retirement. Others view it with fear and dread. Those who prepared for retirement can enjoy freedom to pursue interests and ministries not possible while they worked. Those who did not prepare wonder how they can manage and may be forced to do without some necessities in life. Though preparing for retirement is important, nothing is as important as living for God. Faithfulness at this carries great reward. As God gave His commands to the people of Israel, He wanted them to realize that He would bless them if they were faithful in keeping His laws.

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you” (Exodus 23:25).

We truly need God’s blessing on our lives. We face tests and trials that can overwhelm us without His help. His reassurance and support allow us to continue to live for Him throughout our lives. We should consider the challenges we face and determine that we will obey God and trust Him for His help every day.

Thought for Today: The blessings of obedience far outweigh the challenges of obedience.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
