Amazing Change of Heart
Amazing Change of Heart
2 Chronicles 33:1-13: “In his distress he sought…the Lord” (v.12). “My son will never change,” the concerned father sighed. “He seems obsessed with proving he can be the youngest man in his company to ‘make it big’. But then he’s always been obsessed with something.” Many years ago another young man ‘made it big’ before the age of twenty. Arrogance and ruthlessness characterized his leadership. He mocked the values he learned as a child. But one day he woke up in prison — old and alone, humiliated and desperate. “Lord God, I need you,” he prayed. “I’m powerless to undo the mess I’ve made of my life. Please help me!” God heard and renewed his life. Some of us have pasts we would rather forget. We may have laughed in the face of a loving and just God while we pursued our power obsessions and eventually burned out. Or perhaps in the endeavor to do everything just right we lost sight of our priorities, hurting ourselves and others. Manasseh had an amazing change of heart and mind. We can, too. When we admit our dire need, God listens — every time. Positive Change is possible, Lord. Thank you for that affirmation. Joan C. Webb

As they say in recovery, the longest journey we take is from our head to our heart. So often we are in our head and think we know, and it takes time to feel that we know.
A change in attitude, sufficient to bring about recovery.
