Default Overwhelmed with Clutter

OVERWHELMED WITH CLUTTER

Just about everyone has dealt with clutter in their lives. Not just the clutter we can see around our homes or in the yard. We deal with clutter in our minds. We deal with clutter from the news, the Internet and the electronic devices we use. Clutter can consume us and overwhelm us so we do nothing but focus on that clutter. It’s time we removed the clutter from our lives and begin with a clean slate so we can do something in life that will make a difference. And God can help.

Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we have so much clutter in our lives. We tend to spend too much time thinking and talking about unimportant worldly things when we should be focusing on You. You can make our clutter clearer. You can simplify our lives so that we aren’t so cluttered up with the things of the world. When we choose to focus on You, You can give us a clean slate, clutter-free, so we can run the race You have set before us. We give You our lives today to de-clutter. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we continue to focus on the clutter in our lives, we won’t get anything done for God.

God is able to remove the clutter from our lives so we can live on track for Him.

When we focus on clutter, we remain confused. When we focus on God, the clutter disappears.

Everything in this world will slow us down if we continue to dwell on it.

The things of the world we focus on the most will be the things that will trip us up every time.

Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)

Focus: Whatever we focus on will be revealed in our thoughts, minds and actions.
