Default Strength What Remains

STRENGTHEN WHAT REMAINS

Discipline is needed in all we do. As children, we are disciplined to do right and obey. As adults, we are disciplined when we disobey the law. As Christians, we should be disciplined to be obedient to God. It requires strength to be disciplined, to resist temptation, to create godly habits and be obedient to God. God can give us that strength. We can forget the past, the shortcomings and the hurts. We can decide today to be disciplined for God and so He can strengthen what remains.

Revelation 3:2-3a “Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You for strength. We come to You for revelation. We come to You for direction. You know what we need to strengthen. You know what we need to take action on. You know what we need to hold firmly to. We come to You requesting forgiveness and mercy. Show us Your way so we can take the steps You want us to take to strengthen what remains. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we feel we are losing it in life, we can go to God to help us find our purpose again for Him.

Where we are weakest, God is strong.

God has the ability to strengthen what remains in us when we feel we are at our lowest low.

When we are disciplined to be obedient to God, He will help us resist temptation and He will give us strength.

When we feel we have very little in life, we go to God to help us strengthen what little we do have – and He will.

In order to strengthen what remains, we need to cry out for God like babies and take in His spiritual milk.

1 Peter 2:2-3 “Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” (NLT)

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
