Precious Promises – Day 22 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: PROTECTION The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. Psalm 91:14 (NLT) Today’s Thought: The Lord promises protection, safety, ease and peace to those who love Him, listen to Him, and trust in His name. In this unstable world the promise of protection is such a treasure! We can be sure to claim this promise daily if we listen to Lord and place our trust in Him, for then it will show Him that we love Him. “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:33 (NKJV) Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, I want to claim this promise of protection. I want to live in safety and be at ease without fear of harm. So, each day I will purpose to show I love You by listening to You and trusting in You. I will do this by praying and reading Your word, and then listening to what You are speaking to me and then going forth to do it. I want and need Your protection in my life day and night. Thank You, God, for this wonderful promise! In Jesus name I pray. Amen ********** Prove Them Wrong If ever there is a day you hang your head because of something not nice or not true someone said about you, remember this: prove them wrong. You are kind. You are fun. You are loved. You are thoughtful. You are prayerful. Don’t fall into the trap of saying ugly things back. Don’t retaliate. Take the higher ground — and because you don’t have to live with reaction regret, celebrate. Now you go live in such a way that illuminates the beautiful reality of who you are and who Jesus is in you. People will eventually see the truth. ~ Lysa ********** Love Overcomes by Seek Ye First the Kingdom Do you ever wonder how people who have been victims of terrible crimes can forgive those who committed those crimes? We know that the Bible tells us we should forgive, but in some cases it seems almost impossible. Proverbs 10:12 says, “..love covers all wrongs.” and in 1 John 4:8, John writes, “…God is love.” It is God’s love working through us that allows us to forgive those who seem un-forgivable, and to overcome those seemingly impossible conflicts we encounter. Dear Lord, It was ultimately your love for us that covered our wrongs through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Help us draw on your love to overcome conflicts in our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen. ********** But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. – Genesis 8:1 (NIV) You might be going through something tough today. In fact, you might be going through something for months like Noah was here in this Bible verse. Noah had been obeying God now for years. He had built an ark according to God’s instruction. He had been on the ark for months as the floods came and stayed. He might have been tempted to get discouraged wondering if the floods were ever going to go away. However, God didn’t forget about Noah. He still came through for him by causing the waters to recede. Just like Noah, God hasn’t forgot about you. He knows where you’re at and how to help you. If you’ve stepped out and obeyed Him, even if it’s been months, keep standing strong in faith because God will come through and remember you in your situation. God is there to help you walk through the difficulties that you face. In the midst of difficulty, it’s easy to lose hope and become discouraged. Challenge yourself in those times to not give up. God has a good plan for you and a future that is good. Keep pressing into Him and see God bring a miracle to pass in your life if you don’t give up. http://studentdevos.com/ ********** Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people). — Ephesians 6:18 (AMPC) Tell God Everything by Joyce Meyer I encourage you to talk with God about absolutely everything. You can tell Him how you feel, what you desire and what your goals are. Tell Him what you love about Him and about your life and express your gratitude for all that He has done for you. You can tell God about the things in your life that you don’t like or that are hard for you. Tell Him what you have done that is wrong and talk with Him about all your concerns for yourself, your life, and your loved ones. You can tell God absolutely anything, and He is never shocked or surprised because He knew all about it before it ever happened. He’s not surprised about anything! Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for being my friend and listening to everything I have to say. In Jesus’ name, amen ********** Really Live! by Victoria Osteen So many people are walking around in this life, day in and day out, going through the motions, checking off their lists, breathing air, but they aren't truly living. God doesn't want us to just get through our days; He wants us to thrive, excel, and really live! John 10:10 tells us that Jesus came to give us life—not just any life, but abundant life—complete, whole, and thriving in every way. He wants to ignite passion on the inside of you, stir up your dreams, and put you in the right place to fulfill your destiny! One of the keys to really enjoying life is to master the art of overlooking offense. When we hold on to hurt and offense it quickly becomes bitterness that works like an emotional cancer inside of us. But when we overlook offense, we choose love and release the wrongs done to us. When we let go of the wrong things, we have room to embrace the right things—the supernatural life He has for us! I encourage you today, if someone has wronged you and you still get that cringing feeling on the inside when you see them or think about them, take it to God and allow Him to keep your heart soft and sensitive. Don't let unforgiveness hold you back, weigh you down, and keep you from really living. It's not always easy and it's okay to say, "God, I don't feel like I can forgive this person, but I'm asking You to give me the grace and the strength to forgive. I am giving my heart to You, and I am giving that person and situation to You, because You are the only One who can help me forgive." If we are going to change any part of our lives, we have to start on the inside. Change always begins in the heart. Today and every day, choose to overlook offense, choose love, and choose to really live the abundant life God has prepared for you! "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10 NIV). ********** Who Says We Can’t Change? by Max Lucado Here’s some good news. You aren’t stuck with today’s personality. You aren’t condemned to “grumpydom.” You are tweak-able! So what if you were born a bigot? You don’t have to die one. Where did we get the idea we can’t change? Where do statements come from such as, “It’s just my nature to worry,” or. . . “I’ll always be pessimistic. I’m just that way.” Or, “I have a bad temper. I can’t help the way I react?” Who says? Would we say, “it’s just my nature to have a broken leg. I can’t do anything about it.” Of course not. If our body malfunctions, we seek help. Shouldn’t we do the same with our hearts? Can’t we seek aid for our sour attitudes? Of course we can. Jesus can change our hearts! He wants us to have a heart like his! From Just Like Jesus
