Precious Promises – Day 25 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: SALVATION
…when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, Titus 3:4-6 (NKJV)

Today’s Thought:
Here we see the Promise of the Trinity.
God–Jesus–Holy Spirit
A loving God showing kindness and mercy
saves us from sin and death
by sending Jesus Christ to be our Savior.
He offers us a new life, a washing away of sin,
a rebirth and renewal
by generously pouring out His Holy Spirit on us.
What do we do to receive this Promise?
There are no righteous things we can do.
We need only to believe and we will receive.

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God, I am so glad You are a kind and loving God who is full of mercy.
Thank You for providing a way for me to be reconciled to You by sending Your Son, Jesus, to save me from sin and death by washing me clean and giving me a rebirth and renewal.
Thank You that You have generously poured out Your Holy Spirit so I can live abundantly and victoriously everyday!
As I believe, so I will receive. Thank You, God. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

Catch the Foxes

"Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom." (Song of Solomon 2:15)

We all get "little" thoughts of self determination that argue against the gentle leading of the Spirit. They tempt us to go on without the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

They seem almost innocent at first:
"I'll read my bible later... and I can pray then too."
"Go ahead, it'll be OK."
"They started it..."
"It's no big deal... anyway, God will forgive me."
"You messed up already, might as well enjoy it..."
"You've been doing good, you finally have your stuff together."

These 'little foxes' are deceptive. They turn us away from the Spirit and into strife and misery. And so Christian, we are told: Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. (Pro 4:23) Let's pray.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy. Help me when I stumble that I would turn quickly to You. Help me to guard my mind against the little thoughts that creep in to turn my heart away from You. Lead me in Your way where my heart and mind is restored and guarded in Your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today's very great and precious promise

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. (Pro 3:5,6)

We have God's Word on it.

LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION

Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love shall be immovable and never fail, and my covenant of peace shall not be shaken. So says the Lord who takes loves you. (Isaiah 54:10 — NIV)

We have all experienced times when we felt abandoned by God, when we felt like our world was falling apart. But God tells us in Isaiah that nothing will change the love that He has for us. Nothing on earth, or anything that can happen on earth or in heaven, will change the fact that God, the Creator of the Universe and everything in it, loves you. He knew you before He ever created the Earth. He said His love is immovable and unchangeable.

When those times come that we no longer feel or sense His presence it is not because His heart has changed towards us. It is because we have moved or changed somehow. We need to recognize that and turn back to the Him and reconnect our hearts with His. God has said if you draw close to Him He will draw close to you.

God is constant and consistent. We, on the other hand, can be very fickle, unsteady, shifting and changing. We are like waves on the sea, tossed to and fro by the winds of “change”. So the next time you are feeling like God doesn’t love you any more remember His promise in Isaiah and run to Him. Run to the one who loves you the most.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold

Don’t Give Up - Our Daily Bread Ministries

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Bob Foster, my mentor and friend for more than fifty years, never gave up on me. His unchanging friendship and encouragement, even during my darkest times, helped carry me through.
We often find ourselves determined to reach out and help someone we know who is in great need. But when we fail to see improvement right away, our resolve can weaken and we may eventually give up. We discover that what we hoped would be an immediate change has become an ongoing process.
As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.
The apostle Paul urges us to be patient in helping one another through the stumbles and struggles of life. When he writes, “Carry each other’s burdens” and so “fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2), he is comparing our task to the work, time, and waiting it takes for a farmer to see a harvest.
How long should we keep praying and reaching out to those we love? “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (v. 9). How many times should we reach out? “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (v. 10).
The Lord encourages us today to trust Him, to remain faithful to others, to keep on praying, and to not give up!

Father in heaven, we ask for hope and perseverance to continue reaching out to others.

In prayer we call on God “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” Ephesians 3:20

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
