Have been literally paralyzed because of hate, anger, and fear which I was unable to forgive. I learned I had to forgive the person as a child of God and recognize that they have their own disease. I had to forgive for my own health and well being.
I had to ask my God and myself for forgiveness and had to work Steps 8 and 9 to help me do that, along with making the change and amends to others. Amends isn't saying "Sorry" and trying to forget. It is about changing ourselves and not continue doing and acting out in my disease in recovery. It is about healing me and the thinking behind my drinking, drugging, and little game plays I made to get validation, attention, fill the empty void that I did't fill with spiritual things, and the list goes on and on.
