Faithfulness
God's Word For Today
Faithfulness Read Jeremiah 31:1 through 32:44 The scene is familiar. A man in a tuxedo beside a woman in a white gown. A veil covers her face. The man and woman face a minister and pledge to love each other until death. Rice or birdseed showers upon them as they depart the scene in legally bound bliss. Unfortunately, for many, the bliss fades. Winter’s chill enters the relationship. Emotions freeze. Commitments are forgotten and a spouse is tossed aside. Humans can be fickle about commitments. Thankfully, God cannot. “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jeremiah 31:3). Israel had not always been faithful to God, but God was always been faithful to Israel. His love for the Israelites endured. His love toward you also endures, even if, you’ve been unfaithful (2 Timothy 2:13). Prayer Suggestion: Father, help me to recognize Your love and faithfulness in my life and help me to be faithful to you. Quicklook: Jeremiah 31:1–11
